Weather Fables ("the app", "we", "us") is a weather app for iPhone and iPad made by XRK Dev (Cristian Critelli). It is built so that almost nothing about you leaves your phone, and this page says exactly what does.
The short version
- No account, no sign-up, no login.
- The forecast comes from Apple Weather. To fetch it, the app sends the coordinates of the places you choose, or of your current location if you allow it, to Apple's weather service. That goes to Apple, not to us.
- If you let the app follow you, it can notice you have travelled and move the book and your widget to the town you are in, without your opening it. That is the only reason it ever looks while the app is closed.
- Your places, your settings, the cached forecast and the record of which lines you have already been told live on your device only.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
- No advertisements inside the app, no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier (IDFA), no tracking permission prompt.
- We do advertise the app ourselves, on platforms such as Meta, and to learn which of our ads bring people in we rely on Apple's anonymous attribution and share one small, anonymous app-open signal. Details below.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, health data, or any identifier tied to you. We have no server that holds anything about you.
Stored on your device
- The places you save (a name and coordinates) and whether "use my location" is on.
- The last place your phone was seen, if you let the app follow you — a single pair of coordinates, overwritten each time, used only to work out whether you have changed town.
- Your settings: units, the morning briefing hour, your notification choices, the Companion you chose, the app icon.
- The most recent forecast, kept in the app's own container so the widgets can show it without asking Apple again.
- Which lines and sayings you have already been shown, so nothing repeats within a year.
All of it is deleted when you delete the app. None of it is synced to iCloud in this version; if that ever changes, this page will say so first.
