These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and XRK Dev (Cristian Critelli), the maker of Weather Fables ("the app"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. Your licence to use the app is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; these terms add to it and, where they differ, these terms apply between you and us.

What Weather Fables is

Weather Fables tells you the real forecast from Apple Weather in a storybook voice: each day one of sixteen painted Companions has the weather and says it in a single line. Pythia is the narrator. The Companions are characters and their lines are written entertainment around real data. The app is for information and enjoyment.

The forecast

Forecasts, official warnings and almanac data come from Apple Weather. Forecasts can be wrong, and the sky changes its mind. Do not rely on the app alone for decisions where an error could cause harm; for warnings, follow the issuing agency. Official warnings are shown as issued, with the agency's name and a link, and we add nothing to them.

The verdicts and the sayings

• The plain yes or no for the washing, the dog and the bike is our own interpretation of Apple Weather's hourly data, offered for convenience and fun. It is not Apple's, and it is not safety advice.
• The Lore is an almanac of old weather sayings, drawn from the English weather tradition as recorded by Victorian collectors, tested against the day's forecast for the pleasure of seeing whether they hold. A saying is folklore, not a forecast.

What is free

Pythia's page for today and the week, every place you care to add, widgets in Pythia's voice, every official warning, and sharing a page or a saying as a picture.

The whole sky: subscriptions and purchases

"The whole sky" unlocks the sixteen Companions, a Companion of its own for every place, a new line every morning, the verdicts, next-hour rain in the Dynamic Island, rain and frost notes, widgets in all sixteen voices, the year's skies, painted wallpapers and the eight turning points of the year. It is sold as an auto-renewing yearly subscription with a free trial for new subscribers, an auto-renewing monthly subscription, or a one-time purchase, with Family Sharing where Apple offers it. Prices are shown in the App Store and in the app in your currency before you buy.

The disclosures Apple requires:

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before that period ends.
• You can manage a subscription and turn off auto-renewal in Settings > your name > Subscriptions on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; we cannot issue them ourselves.
